Woodstock School Library
Woodstock Library offers a wide range of books for children, grades K-5. Our full-time Library Assistant, Mrs. Doty, sees each class once a week. K-2 students receive 30 minutes of library time which includes time for returning, renewing and checking out new books and a brief storytime. Third-Fifth graders receive 40 minutes of library time which includes instruction in the use of library's online catalog, learning to select books from a wide variety of genres, research skills and storytimes. She encourages independence in the library the more students become comfortable in the use of the online catalog.
Students are welcome to check in and check out books before and after school as Mrs. Doty's schedule allows. Parents are also welcome to visit the library and check out books for their children. She welcomes volunteers from both parents and the community to help with library tasks which includes the shelving of books which is a constant challenge in a busy school library.
Mrs. Doty is helpful in guiding students to those "just right" books. She has resources available to students in helping them with research and is happy to help them access the information that will help them with their projects.
