Before and After School
Child Care
Before and after school child care is provided on site by the YMCA. The staff members strive to provide a safe, well structured program. Care is available before school starting at 6:30 a.m. and after school until 6:00 p.m. daily. The program follows the district trimester calendar with child care available on late start and in-service days as well as during the Winter and Spring Break periods. Families can register online at the YMCA Website, or by phone at (503) 327-0007.
Chess for Success
Our Chess for Success clubs is one of the largest within PPS. Students in grades 1-5 meet each Wednesday immediately after school in the cafeteria. They learn the fundamentals of chess and have the opportunity to participate in tournaments throughout the school year. Kindergarten students are invited to participate in a series of sessions during the month of May as an opportunity to try out this critical thinking experience. Please contact Mrs. Doty through the school office for more information.
Dream Team
The Woodstock Dream Team is sponsored by our PE teacher Mrs. Fitz and our library assistant Mrs. Doty. This is a creative dramatics club that meets to develop and provide skits at our school wide assembly held each Monday morning. Each skit focuses on one Lifeskill or LifeLong Guideline. Students demonstrate what it would looks like in our school when students follow or ignore these basic citizenship skills. The team meets immediately after school for one hour each week. Participation is open to students in grades 3-5.
Tuition Based Classes
Woodstock also offers a number of tuition based after school classes. These include:
- Chinese Dance
- Chinese Art
- Mad Science
- Young Rembrandts
- Spanish Language Class
Schedules are available through the school office.
