Seattle trip exposes students to college

Franklin, Madison and Roosevelt high school sophomores got an early exposure to college when they toured four in the Seattle area during spring break through the Portland Public Schools GEAR UP College Ahead Program.

Camp exposes students to construction careers

Students from seven schools learned about construction careers over Spring Break. Construction careers came alive for 20 PPS students from seven high schools during a two-day Spring Break Build-It Camp led by trades professionals.

Salt & Straw asks students for flavor ideas

March 20, 2015
Salt & Straw ice cream maker Tyler Malek, who has made ice cream flavors with everything from olive oil to beer, asked Vernon students to help him come up with a new flavor. Popular ice cream makers Salt & Straw, a great local business partner to Portland Public Schools, on Friday launched the third year of a fun fundraiser for Vernon, Chapman and Abernethy schools.
