President's Welcome
Welcome to the 2012–2013 school year. As a parent, I know how important it is to feel well informed about what is going on in your child’s school and to feel represented during decision making. The PTA strives to keep parents informed, to advocate for the entire parent community, and to provide you a way to make a difference in your child’s school. We all want the same thing for our kids: a high school experience that prepares them for the next adventure in a safe environment where they can learn and grow according to their own needs. Parent participation is a very important piece of this equation. In the PTA area of this website you will find information on the many opportunities for parent participation offered by Wilson PTA. Here’s what you can do:
Join. See the Membership form included here for instructions on how to become a member, or go to wilsonhighschoolpta.org to use a credit card.
Volunteer. There are many ways to pitch in, and volunteering is great way to get to know staff and other parents.
Support. Above and beyond your membership dues, PTA needs your financial contributions to provide support for programs school-wide. Donations are tax-deductible. Your employer may provide matching funds for time or money you contribute—be sure to ask!

A few ways to get involved this year:
- The PTA Auction raises money for activities throughout the school. Mark your calendar for April 13th, 2013.
- Scrip is an easy way to contribute and doesn’t have to cost you any more than your usual grocery bill.
- Wilson families can advertise their businesses to the Wilson community while supporting PTA. See the Membership form inside for more information. PTA provides a voice for parents regarding school issues and supports programs, but there two other groups that need your support as well. Wilson Foundation is the only source of funds to pay for extra staffing and Wilson Boosters raise money through concessions that benefits many school groups. All of these groups need your support!
