About me
Shannon has nine years of experience teaching math and science at Independent Schools in San Francisco and New York City. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Oregon with minors in both biology and geography. Shannon earned her M.A. in Education, from the School of Social Justice at the University of San Francisco. She received her certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in Barcelona, Spain.
She spent two years in as an Ameri-Corps member. Her first assignment was with a joint program of the National Park Service and the San Francisco Conservation Corps. Her second assignment was with through Teacher Education for the Advancement of a Multicultural Society (TEAMS).
Through her interest in biology and the environment, she helps students foster a sense of environmental stewardship. She leads them through an examination of the interconnection of natural science and urban ecology.
