Bonnie Hobson earned her bachelors degree at Hendrix College and her masters at Portland State University. She began her work in Portland Public Schools as a teacher in 1982, after two years in the Peace Corps in Kenya. She taught music and math at Hosford Middle School for 3 years and math at Franklin High School for 5 years. She became a high school vice principal in 1994 and served in that capacity for four years. She was the principal of Roosevelt High School and Gregory Heights Middle School for a total of 9 years. When Gregory Heights merged with Rose City Park to become Roseway Heights, Bonnie was asked to lead the implementation of the district initiatives for AVID, International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement as part of the Office of Teaching and Learning. Bonnie is an experienced, savvy, intelligent and effective school leader. Bonnie began at HTLAYW in fall of 2009.
