As a part of the work we are doing as a Focus School, Sitton is in
the process of revamping our communication systems. Through recent
analysis it was found that we could be better communicators with our
homes and families.
At the January 16 inservice, the Sitton staff spent the majority of
the day reviewing how we currently communicate with our families and
community. Then we brainstormed ways we could improve on those
processes. One such improvement you should see quickly is our new
monthly parent newsletter. This will bring you up to date information
about things happening at Sitton as well as a calendar of those events.
With the start of the 2013-14 school year, the Sitton office plans to
gather parent text information, so we can make text contact about
events or emergencies. We believe texting parents will be done in a way
that allows the parents to track things at their pace and it does not
interrupt their day like an automated telephone dialer system might.
All of our thoughts and planning come from our perspective. If you
have ideas about how we could better improve our parent and community
communication, please feel free to let us know. Take a moment to call,
e-mail or just mention it to one of your teachers. We are all working
to make Sitton a better school. Improvement is a process and not a
destination. Our improvement as a school should never be completed.
