Curtis Wilson's Bio
Welcome to my Classroom, room 5. My name is Curtis Wilson III, and I teach 2nd grade at Sitton. I grew up in the neighborhood, and graduated from Roosevelt High school. I enjoy teaching 2nd grade, because it is usually the first year that the “children” start to become real students. I set high standards in my classroom, because I want every student to have an opportunity to learn to the best of their ability.
After graduating from Roosevelt High, I spent time in business before deciding to become a teacher. I then attended Portland State University, and received a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Black Studies. I immediately went on to obtain my Masters of Education, again at Portland State, graduating in 2008. After student teaching at John Ball Elementary, and Rosa Parks K-8, I was offered the position as a 2nd grade teacher at Sitton, and am in my third year here.
The easiest way to contact me is by phone, and while I am in the classroom most of the day, I do return calls promptly (503-916-6277). I can also be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Feel free to contact me with any questions about your student, the classroom curriculum, or any other questions.
I came to teaching as way to help the children in this community thrive. My number one priority is that the kids have all of the tools they need to succeed in my classroom, so I try to provide support in any way that is needed. I try to keep in close contact with the parents/guardians of my students as needed to help keep the kids on track with their educational goals.
