I am the Student Management Specialist
at Sitton Elementary. The Student Management Specialist wears a lot of
hats at a small school, so while a large part of my job is working with
students that are making poor choices at the school, I am also the
Safety Patrol Coordinator, and the Chess for Success Instructor at
Sitton. At my previous school I was the TAG (Talented and Gifted)
coordinator and an Instructional Specialist.
I have my BA in Education, my Masters in Curriculum Instruction, and my Initial Administrator license. I taught in a blended 4th and 5th grade classroom for 11 years, and 4 years ago made the change to Student Management Specialist.
The change to Student Management Specialist has been a very positive experience for me. I enjoy instructing children on curriculum and acceptable and effective ways to advocate for themselves. I cherish observing and assisting these children as they blossom into proficient academic and socially accepted Sitton students. I believe that all children can learn and should feel safe at school. With the above in place children can access learning when provided the instructional frameworks that meet their needs.
Outside of work hours, I enjoy singing tenor in my church choir and working out at the gym. My wife and I also spend time having fun with our grandchildren.
