Parent Involvement Overview
Behind every great teaching staff (and we do have a great staff!) are the parents whose commitment helps ensure a positive student experience. From helping with homework at home to volunteering at school, each parent's effort can and does make a difference.
At Sellwood Middle School, there are many ways for parents to get involved:

- Provide extra "outside-the-classroom" adult presence through the Sellwood Volunteer Program
- Help out in the classroom (check with your teachers)
- Chaperone on field trips
- Participate in school functions such as the Back-to-School Bar-B-Q
- Join a PTA committee (help out for an hour or lead an entire project)
- Spearhead fundraising by joining the Sellwood Middle School Foundation
- Shape the school's mission and vision by serving on the Site Council
