The mission of Sellwood Middle School's Special Education Learning Center is to provide academic support for students based on their Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and core classroom workload and needs. The program includes:
  • Individualized and/or small group instruction in the basic skills of reading, writing, and/or math.
  • Consultative support services in all core academic content classes - math, language arts, health, science, social studies.
  • Assistance and advocacy with program development, scheduling and transition planning into high school.
  • Study skill training and improvement.
  • Case management of IEPs.
  • Collaboration with staff to support modifications and accommodations in the general education setting.
