Why I Teach: In SUN I have the opportunity to work with kids of all ages and their families. It is wonderful to see students grow, learn new skills and develop friendships.
What I Believe: Running a community school, my approach is inclusive and based in relationships. I want SUN staff to build strong relationships with their students and serve as mentors.
My Favorite Things: Spending time with family and friends, playing with my nephews and nieces, exercising, traveling, cooking, baking, reading books & magazines.
How I help every student succeed: Incorporating reading, writing and math into after school classes and offering academic support and tutoring. Connecting high need students with mentors. Meeting families’ basic needs, such as referrals for rental & energy assistance and clothing closets.
