Why I Teach: I like teaching for many reasons. First, I love to work with elementary age children. Second, I feel this is what I do best in my skill set and years of experience/training. Lastly, I feel a conviction that I can help children change their legacy for the better.
What I Believe: I strive to develop the whole child – intellectually, socially, and emotionally. I believe that with young children that their emotional tank is low and without my encouragement they don’t even believe they can learn. Intellectually, I do my best to individualize and challenge my students at their level.
My Favorite Things: I love most of all spending time with my wife and children. I like to take walks and ride bikes. As a family, we are very involved in our church so we enjoy just spending time with our church friends talking and having fun.
How I help every student succeed: I believe to help my student reach their “big hairy audacious goal” that I keep on improving in my best practices as a teacher. I try to be time-efficient, and strong classroom management so my students can get the maximum learning each day. I work hard at getting individual time with all my children each day. Lastly, I structure my schedule to allow for double dosing of students who need extra help in reading, math, or writing.
