Spring 2011 - Fundraising FAQs
In previous years the Rieke Foundation, PTA, and the Run for Arts and Technology (RAT Race) have typically raised about $100,000 for funding a certified teacher, reading specialist, technology specialist, teacher grants, and other programs needed by the school. This year we are on track to raise only $70,000, at the same time we anticipate district wide cuts in PPS funding.
The Foundation and PTA have joined together in an effort to raise at least $50,000 this spring in RISE UP FOR RIEKE CAMPAIGN! Donate online now. We have determined that $50,000 is the minimum amount needed just to maintain the level of staffing and programs the PTA and Foundation currently support. As of April 25, We are at $24,000 or about half way to our goal.

How You Can Support Fundraising at Rieke
How You Can Support Fundraising at Rieke
There are many ways to help raise money to support Rieke Elementary, and some of them are so easy all you have to do is continue to shop at all your regular stores. Together, these “passive” fundraisers generate hundreds of dollars a year for Rieke, and have the potential to earn much more!
Box Tops: Look for Box Tops for Education on hundreds of grocery products. Clip them off and put them in the PTA box in the school office or return them to specially marked envelopes in each classroom. Each box top earns ten cents for Rieke.
eScrip.com: Earn money for Rieke at eScrip.com by registering your credit card just once. Then each time you use that card at participating merchants (either in the store or at the eScrip.com online mall), Rieke gets a percentage. Local participating merchants include Market of Choice, Zupan’s, Office Depot, Big 5. Shop at over 700 merchants at the eScrip on-line mall. Up to 4% of your purchases go to Rieke when you shop at Safeway by registering your Safeway Club card at eScrip.com.
Target card: Your Target Visa card earns Rieke a percentage of the purchases you charge (anywhere) to the school of your choice. Go to target.com or call 1-800-3 16-6142 to sign up for the Take Charge of Education program and designate Rieke as your recipient.
Schoolpop.com: If you like to shop online, register as a Rieke supporter at www.schoolpop.com. When you shop online, enter the merchant's site via schoolpop.com, make your purchase, and the merchant donates a percentage of your purchase (typically 2%-3%) to Rieke PTA. The only thing you have to do is remember to start every online shopping session at schoolpop.com. Participating merchants include Landsend.com, Nordstrom.com, Target.com, Apple I-Tunes and hundreds more. Go to schoolpop.com for a complete list.
