Landslides occur all over the Earth, and you'll see this isn't the only planet where they happen! The information below shows some specific slides, and the information at the bottom of this page gives links to more specific information; definitions, different types, causes, and ways to prevent landslide occurrence.

Bonneville Landslide: also known as Table Mountain Landslide or Bridge of the Gods Landslide

This may not look like much, but you can see the brown areas that look like shear cliffs. That's the back of the landslide. All the material in front of those brown areas is the part that has slid down!

Here's a page from a Self Guided Tour of the Geology of the Columbia River Gorge. The middle picture shows an aerial view of how the landslide slid down into the Columbia River. It actually blocked the entire river when it happened and over time the river changed course around the slide.
