It's hard to believe that we are almost at the end of February.  Already this year we have learned lots. 

In math: geometry, factorization and prime numbers, multiplication, division, and we are currently studying fractions, decimals and percents.

In science: micro-organisms, life chains and webs, variables, investigations and experiments.

In social studies: We have completed a simulation on explorers and are currently studying colonial times.

In reading: We regularly look at various reading strategies and genres.

In writing: We have written narratives and informational articles, Currently, we are writing research papers, creating power points, and presenting speeches.

Government, economics, the beginning of our nation, and health

Connie Lewis
My name is Connie Lewis and I've been a teacher for 16 years.  I'm also a mother of two Portland Public graduates.  Both of my children attended Madison High school.  My son is a computer engineer and my daughter is the chief of staff for Senator Burdick in Salem.  I also have a grandson, Jackson, who has captured my heart.

In my spare time: I love to travel, read, bowl, play games, and bargain shop at garage sales.   My favorite subject to teach is math and I believe strongly in teaching children responsibility.
