- Academic achievement meets high standards through rigorous instruction by a team of dedicated, highly skilled teachers and support staff. Students become great readers, writers and speakers as a result of research-based curriculum, uninterrupted 90-minute literacy “blocks,” frequent assessment and progress monitoring, small group direct instruction, guided reading, tutoring by educational assistants and volunteers, and a full-time Reading Coach.
- Experiential, hands-on math, science, and social studies instruction helps students become critical thinkers and effective problem-solvers.
- Technology and arts integration, assemblies, field trips and nature-based activities ensure a balanced education for ALL students, including those receiving Special Education, Talented and Gifted and English as Second Language services. All students receive instruction in music, physical education, library skills and technology instruction.
- After school enrichment opportunities include: marimba bands, boys and girls basketball and soccer teams, chess for success, drama, ceramics, dance, bicycle club, homework support and AKA science.
