Pink Martini’s Thomas Lauderdale and Standard Insurance James Paulson are Principals for a Day!

Yes, that’s right, we had two great principals for a Day. Not surprising, Thomas Lauderdale gave Music Production students a treat by playing much of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and then gave students feedback on their digital sound scores. James Paulson enjoyed talking to math students, and then accompanied Principal Locke, teacher leader Bree Woodruff and senior Jorge Nava Marin to a luncheon with the Employers for Education Excellence Board of Directors. Mr. Locke shared data points, Ms. Woodruff talked about our success in Math, and Jorge spoke of his current calculus class at Reed College and his experience last year as part of the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) after school program with other Portland area high school students. As well as being generous with Pink Martini’s new CD Splendor in the Grass, Thomas took many candid photos with his well travelled 1960’s Polaroid.
