A Message from the Principal

Greetings Renaissance Arts Families,

I hope you are all well. As a school community our transition to Madison has been busy and productive. Almost all students know which school they will be attending next fall and staff have also been briefed on their transition process.

Last Friday, 2/11, Madison Principal Petra Callin and her counselors came over to start the important Forecasting process with 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. Ms. Callin extended a warm Madison welcome to ALL RA and Pauling Academy students and staff and assured them that special activities were being planned to ensure a smooth transition.

On Tuesday, 2/15 Madison counselors returned and worked with RA counselor Erin Hale to make sure all students properly forecast for Madison classes. This went very smoothly. A huge Thank You to Ms. Hale and the Madison Counselors for coordinating this important event. RA students attending Franklin next year will participate in a similar process with Biz Tech students in the near future. Interested staff visited Madison on Monday, February 14th and will have the same opportunity to visit Franklin on Tuesday, February 22nd.

Each month, a Marshall Transition Team meeting takes place to also support the transition process. Our meetings are facilitated by Carole Turner, with assistance from Region II administrator Mark Davalos, and Sarah Singer. The team consists of students, staff, administrators, and interested parents and community members from all three Marshall Schools, Madison, and Franklin. The focus of the committee is to support students, families, and staff throughout the transition process.

Fred Locke,

Principal
