Valentine's Day Information

Dear Families,                                                                                                                                           Believe it or not Valentine’s Day is close at hand! This is a very special day for students. Children of all ages love to give and receive valentines. It is delightful to watch the students’ faces light up as they open their valentines. It is a magical experience.
For kindergarteners, this is a perfect time for them to practice writing their name 19 times in correct form. You will want to begin this process early. It is reasonable for your child to do 3-5 a night. It is important that your child signs their name, but do not have them put the name of whom the valentine will go to. We will pass our valentines out on Monday, February 13. You will want to have your child bring their valentines to school by Monday, February 13. If they are done with them early, they are welcome to bring them early.
We will work with our third grade buddies on the morning of Valentine’s Day to open and read the valentines. Each student with the help of their buddy will then put their valentines into a special valentine book that has a page for each student in the class. Although valentines are optional, I encourage you to have your child participate in this activity. I would be very happy to send some paper home for your child to make valentines if you need some. Please let me know.
