Welcome to the 7th and 8th Grade Math Page. Thanks for visiting!

The tabs on the left have more information for each class I teach.

Try YOUR skill on this year's sample OAKS tests in mathematics.  Click on your grade level.  I have the answer keys for both tests.

7th Grade Test        8th Grade Test

Quizzes and tests are given every Friday.

Quizzes cover the lessons given over one week.

Tests cover lessons given over several weeks.

Homework is assigned Monday - Thursday; it can be turned in anytime during the week but it is due on Friday.  No weekend homework, ever.

Simple and predictable :-)

  • All students must arrive to math class PREPARED to learn with a pencil, paper, and a binder or folder that contains their math book and useful class handouts.  CELL PHONES PUT AWAY.

  • Homework is one sixth of the math grade for 7 – 8 Pre-Algebra & Algebra 1/2.

Doing the homework offers a student more practice and earns effort points to improve a grade.  It is possible to pass math without doing the homework *BUT* it’s a gamble.  There will be no extra-credit offered beside homework, bonus points on tests, or coming in for extra help.

and...

If students are struggling in math they can make before or after-school appointments with me for individual help.  Students who come in for individual math help earn extra participation points toward their mathematics grade.

Such a deal!!
