Jan Martin, Art Teacher K-8
K-5 students will have art once a week for an hour. This longer period will allow for a more relaxed class- more time for explanation and demonstration, more time for making, and more time for sharing ("critique" for the older kids). In addition, students will learn about the care of materials and set up and clean up routines for the first time. With the exception of Kindergarten and First Grade, we will be taking care of these needs ourselves rather than depending on parents, making us more independent in our practice. Yes!
Middle school students have one-hour classes four times a week. We will be exploring lots of different media and techniques. Their work will be popping up outside room 4 in no time, so keep an eye out. These students are developing by leaps and bounds. Their work will astound you.
