What a wonderful job our puppeteers did on Friday!  The children worked really hard all week and it certainly showed.  I hope everyone had a great time.  Kelly was wonderful and we enjoyed her enthusiasm and creativity. 

Our story for the week is Seeds by Ken Robbins.  We will be talking about, creating, and exploring different kinds of seeds.  Come in and check out our seeds in the window.  We will be watching for them to sprout and talking about the life cycle of seeds.  The author of Seeds also wrote the book Autumn Leaves.  We will be getting this favorite book back out and reading it again. 

The month of February is the introduction of money in Math.  We will be learning how to count pennies and nickels.  We will also learn how to make change when we don’t have the exact coins we need.  We will be doing story problems to reinforce these skills. 

We are starting a new Writing Unit.  We are going to be learning how and why we write letters and the basic elements that a well written letter should contain.

If you have any extra time we would love for you to come in and help.  Our February calendar is up and looking quite bare.  Come and share in our learning with us.
