Welcome Laurelhurst Parents and Families of Room 9!

Welcome to Room 9 and first grade at Laurelhurst School!  I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning with your child.  I know that each of them will bring a very special gift to the classroom and I am looking forward to helping them learn and succeed this school year.  I am especially excited to be joining the Laurelhurst School community after teaching first grade for three years at Harvey Scott School.  I love teaching first grade because first grade is such an exciting year.  Our curriculum focuses on reading, writing, math, and handwriting and we will be learning effective student habits and behaviors.  Of course we’ll have time for science, social studies, PE, art and recess!
