Organization Expectations
Successful Use of Your Planner
1) Bring your planner to class everyday.
2) Post the daily objective in your planner everyday.
3) Post the homework requirement in your planner. Make sure you put the due date in a place where you will always see it.
4) If you are absent, it is your responsibility to keep your planner updated by checking this website or by asking a friend.
Successful Use of Your Social Studies Spiral
1) Use the table of contents to post the title, date, and page number of every entry.
2) Use your social studies spiral to write the vocubulary words of the week. Skip three spaces between each word so you will have enough room to develop a working definition.
3) When we are copying "posters" from the overhead, do not skip any words. Copy exactly what you see.
4) Your social studies spiral will be graded every quarter based on thoroughness.
Turning in Papers
Each class is color coded, and you are expected to turn in your papers in the proper filing drawer for your class. A symbol will be placed on papers received on time. If you do not have the symbol your paper, it means that you have turned it in late.
Maintaining Your Portfolio
Portfolios files are color-coded by class period. Several times per quarter, each student will be given time to update the portfolio by filing your papers. You will be expected to enter your assignments onto a portfolio tracking sheet. At the end of the quarter, you will reflect in writing on your work. You will have an opportunity to conference with me about your portfolio anytime during the quarter by setting up an appointment after school.
