High School Visits for Eighth Graders

High School Visits for Eighth Graders are Around the Corner!   

Thursday, Febraury 5th
Students and families are invited to "BRIDGING THE GAP" - Cleveland High School’s Annual Open House on Thursday, February 5, 2015, 7 p.m. in the CHS Auditorium. You will meet CHS teachers, students and parents who will share their experiences and answer questions while you take a guided tour of the campus. Learn about class offerings, freshman Academies, student activities and resources, athletics and student organizations, as well as the International Baccalaureate and Mandarin Chinese Immersion programs. This is a once-a-year event for 8th graders and their parents. We look forward to seeing you there! Parents with questions should contact Jan Watt at jwatt@pps.net or 503-916-5120 x75029.

Friday, February 6th
Students interested in attending Benson Polytechnic High School will have an opportunity to attend a shadow day on Friday, February 6 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Students will need to provide their own transportation to Benson, and then buses will return students to Lane around 11:30 am. Students must have signed permission slips to attend this field trip.

Tuesday, March 10th
8th grade students assigned to Cleveland will visit Cleveland on Tuesday, March 10 from 10:00 am to1:00 pm. They will tour the school, listen to a presentation from former Lane students, have lunch, and begin forecasting.



Girls Inc. Workshop

Join Girls Inc. for a Mind and Body Workshop on February 18th

Lane girls are all invited to join the Mind and Body Workshop hosted by Girls Inc. on Wednesday, February 18th from 3:45 - 5:45 p.m. The workshop will focus on four areas of creating a healthy, positive sense of self: physical activity, nutrition, body image and stress management. Girls will explore different ways of moving their bodies and practice self-care. This workshop will include a field trip to Mount Tabor Park where girls will participate in a scavenger hunt and games! A signed field trip form is required from parents. Please pick up and return to Travis Wells ASAP. (Students will be excused from their after school activities on this day.)

EdBox is now ParentVUE



EdBox Viewer gets new name in Fall 2013

In Fall 2013, as part of the transition to the new Synergy student information system, PPS will replace the EdBox Viewer that middle and high school families can use to access student grades and attendance. The new EdBox tool, called Synergy ParentVUE, will be available in multiple languages and also as a free mobile app. Families will receive new log-in instructions to Synergy ParentVUE and links to online support materials in Fall 2013.
