Meet the Staff
Cassie Sorensen
SUN School Coordinator 2009-present
Case Manager partner with SUN
2007-2009
Cassie has a Bachelor of Arts from University
of Oregon in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is currently in her 3rd
of 3 years at Portland State University completing her Masters of Social
Work. When Cassie isn’t at Jackson she is probably at her internship with
Portland State’s Community Counseling Center – where she practices as a
therapist – or she’s in class at PSU. If, by some chance, she’s not one
of those three places she is likely spending time with her fiancé, at the gym,
hanging out with friends or family, or reading a great book (currently “The
Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”).
Chad Naberhaus
SUN Class Soccer instructor
I am a teacher in the special education department
for Portland Public Schools. This will be my tenth year as a teacher and
I enjoy my work tremendously. I have been involved in sports, especially
soccer, my entire life. There are few things that I enjoy more than
coaching, playing, watching "the world's game". My other
interests include: camping, traveling and chili dogs.
Emily Wing
SUN Class: Anime Illustration
2010-2011
Comic Creation 2009-2010
Emily Wing is a graduate from the
Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Comic Art. An
aspiring comic artist with an anime and manga flair, she has produced and sold
several mini-comics, created murals, and has interned for the editorial
department of TOKYOPOP. When she's not analyzing the anatomical composition of
a pose or contemplating three-point perspective within a panel border, she can
be found folding origami or wandering the paths of the Chinese and Japanese
gardens. Her favorite animal is the dragon, and her favorite TV shows are
Ronin Warriors and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Her work may be viewed on
her website: www.emily-wing.com.
