Reading Expectations
Home Reading
Students should be reading at home for at least 90 minutes each week in a book of their choice or in their Literature Circles book. If I have asked that a student use the Home Reading contract, they should have parents sign it weekly. Home Reading contracts should be turned in to the homework basket each Monday (or the 1st school day of the week if no school on Monday).
Writer's Journals
Students will respond to their home reading in a section of their Writer's Journals. Responses will be done at the end of each book. I will provide instructions for students on the nature of their responses.
