Box Tops: Classroom competition ends on February 12! Class with the most box tops wins an ice cream party! (Please continue to save box tops for Humboldt after the competition; they can be turned in at any time.)
Help needed: The Humboldt library could use your help! If you have any free time in your week, pop into the library and shelve some books! Ms. Hopkins would appreciate any help she could get!
Scrip: Updated Scrip order forms are now available on the Parent Information Table. Orders are due Tuesday morning by 9:00am in the PTA box and can be picked up on Friday morning.

Safe Routes to School- Safety Update: A curb extension on the south side of Alberta and Gantenbein has been completed. A school zone on Alberta from Haight to Vancouver is pending installation, that will drop speeds in this section to 20 MPH. Speed bumps will be constructed on Alberta from Albina to Vancouver, the soonest this will happen is April. Once these improvements are complete, the City will likely mark a cross-walk on Alberta at Gantenbein. In addition, speeds on Alberta between Albina and MLK will be dropped to 25 MPH.
Parents of 2nd and 5th graders: Please be looking for a brochure from SafeTrips in the mail soon. Safe Routes to School is offering free safety items to families. Humboldt will receive $5 for each brochure returned (postage paid)! You get free stuff and the school gets free money!
Thank you to those that participated in the Safe Routes Focus group last month! Your participation earned the PTA $250!
