- I graduated from U of O with a B.S. in Spanish, then I continued my education at George Fox to earn my M.A.T.
- Relevant Work History
- Before I started teaching I was a para-educator for Spanish-speaking ELL students. My first actual teaching job was also in Spanish at Parkrose High School. For 3 years I taught Math and Social Studies but now I teach Spanish here at Hosford.
- Teaching Philosophy
- My philosophy on teaching is 2 fold: know and respect your students and engage them in their own learning process. KNowing and respecting your students helps with classroom management as well as helps the students have some "buy in" to what your are doing. Helping them create ownership of their learning helps them with teh current curriculum and hopefully creates life-long learners.
- Special Interests
- Away from school you can find me rock climbing at the circuit or skiing up at Mt. Hood Meadows. I also like yoga, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
