Agar Rojas - World Languages
Hello, everyone! My name is Agar Rojas and I'm the French and Spanish teacher. I've been teaching 24 years - and ALL of them at Gray! I love the community, the families, the area and most of all, the kids.
I am originally from Alaska, having been born and raised there, moving to Washington State when I turned 13. I attended Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington and then came to Portland in 1988. I taught half-time at Wilson and half-time at Gray my very first year. What an experience! It made me realize how much I love the middle school age group. I coached volleyball for several years here at Gray with Mr. Sandvold, serve on our Site Council, am currently part of the PBIS Team as well as being the Student Council Faculty Advisor in 2011.
Every two years I travel with Gray and Wilson students to Europe to help further their world language education as well as teaching them about the global community and individual responsibility to others. Traveling abroad with students this age is a phenomenal experience, watching them grow and learn in countless ways, something that cannot be done easily in the classroom.
My family includes my husband Diego who is Costa Rican, my adorable 11-yr. old daughter Aviden, and our two super daughter-dogs, Denali and Tica. We live in Hillsboro, love to go camping, and are big Fringe and Animal Cops fans.
Feel free to email me with any questions that come up at the start of the year or at anytime. I promise I'll answer quickly!
Take care, have a great year and most importantly, be happy!

Welcome to the RG World Languages web page! In an effort to go "green", I have chosen to offer the Course Syllabus here. Below you'll find links to your particular class syllabus. Please print out the Course Syllabus, hole-punch it and keep it in your binder. Kids, be sure to come by every three weeks beginning next week and click on your particular class link for the trivia question. I'll only be posting a new trivia question every three weeks. You have until 8:00 pm that same evening to respond correctly in your target language. You'll know at the end of the three weeks whether or not you were correct if you get a smiley face! Contact me by email if you have any questions. I'd also love to know about any websites you use for your language or what you'd like to see on this web page. Email me with your suggestions, please!
