Room 212
March 13, 2013
Dear Parents: As you know, the fourth graders have been learning about the Oregon Trail and pioneer life. As a culminating event to the unit about pioneers, we will be going on a field trip to participate in a Pioneer Life Tour. This will take place at Philip Foster Farm in Eagle Creek, near the town of Estacada on SE Highway 211. Activities will include building a log house, grinding wheat, using a cross cut saw, washing clothes with a washboard, and making crafts. This field trip will be on Wednesday, April 24th. We will be taking school buses and will board the buses at 8:45 a.m. We will return to school by 2:00 p.m. Students will eat lunch at Philip Foster Farm, so will need to bring a sack lunch. Please return the attached permission slip and money by Friday, March 22nd. The cost for this field trip is $14.00 per child. Please let us know if you would like to be a parent chaperone. We also need to know how many children will be ordering school sack lunches. We look forward to a great learning experience for the children. This will be an enjoyable field trip!
