Dear parents,

February is another busy month in which we will be starting the state testing including several speeches, The students have been practicing their morning reports and so have had some practice in front of the class. I have been recording them, so they can see the area where they need to improve. Most students need to remember to look around the room at everyone. The speech coming up will need to be postponed to the week of February 27th. There is just too much going on, so they will have more time to practice. If your child signed up for Monday, February 13th, then they will say their speech on Monday, February 27th. I am sorry about the change.

We have been working on making Native American masks with Tracy Rittenberry and they are turning out fabulous! When we are finished, the masks will be displayed in the display case in the main hall.

The science fair is on March 22nd this year, so in class we are learning about how to put a experiment together and display it so others can understand our methods. The students may enter the science fair, but it is not required in fourth grade. In class the students will conduct their own experiment in a small group and they may choose to enter that in the fair or they can conduct one at home.

Valentine's day is fast approaching and we will be making our Valentines in class, DO NOT BUY them. We will need some juice, popcorn, and any other goodies that you can think of that the students would like. Let me know if you can bring anything in.
