Sick Policy
I know that many of you are worried about various flues, colds and other things that your child could come in contact with here at school. As a mother of a young child myself I share your worries. I am asking every one to follow the General Guidelines when you decide whether to keep your child home or not.
* No one with a temperature over 100 degrees should be at school. Your child should remain at home until they are fever free for 24 hours without medication.
* Anyone with a stomachache, diarrhea or who can not keep food down should stay home.
* No one with a rash should come to school
* Common cold symptoms- cough, runny nose, sore throat are best treated by staying home and resting.
By following these guidelines we can keep everyone healthy and safe. Please send a note or call the office to excuse your child.
Volunteering
If you would like to volunteer in the classroom or on future field trips it is necessary to fill out a volunteer form from the office. These forms include a background check (which is mandatory). If you want to volunteer in the class I need you to complete the background check. If you are unable to help in the class or on field trips I have easy projects that could be done at home (cutting, stapling books, typing student work etc…). I also will need help with photocopying, science and art projects. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering. Here at Faubion we have wonderful PTA. This year our PTA has given us money for our classrooms and filed trips. Without them we would be unable to go on field trips. I encourage all of you to join. It is a $10 fee that goes back into our school.
Birthdays
It is school policy that birthday celebrations will not be held at school. If you would like to bring in cupcakes, cookies or juice for your child’s birthday, you my do so at lunch or the last 10 minutes of the day. Please remember that all treats must be store brought and no goodies. Please let me know a week in advance that you will be bring treats.
