Mr. Homberg
Welcome to Algebra Connections, also known as Algebra 1! In this course you will be investigating new situations, discovering relationships, and learning strategies to solve problems with a powerful set of mathematical tools called algebra. The concepts and skills that you learn in this course are used and further developed in all future math courses. Support for this class is available online at www.cpm.org.

Materials: You need to bring the following everyday to class:
- Math Book
- Math Notebook
- A Pencil (Not Pen)
Homework:
Homework is assigned almost every night (except Fridays) and contains approximately 10 questions. Homework has been carefully designed to offer you practice of past skills and to help lay a foundation for future learning. You are encouraged to use your notes, class work, previous homework, the Internet, and study teams to help you successfully complete the assignments. Find online help at www.cpm.org.
Homework is due the next day! However, homework will not be counted late if turned in by the end of that week. Any homework turned in after that time will NOT be accepted unless arrangements are worked out with Mr. Homberg. All homework miss due to absents must be made up.
Math Notebook:
You will keep a math notebook that contains class notes, warm-up assignments and a glossary. These notebooks should be kept neat and orderly with clear notes. You should write notes in your own words so that you better understand your notes (Do not just copy the book). Notebook should be used as aids for homework and tests.
Unit Tests:
Unit test will be given at the end of each unit. Unit test will be either an individual or team tests. During team tests students will be allowed to uses teammates as resources for the test. However, during individual unit test students will not be allowed to receive help form other students. Other recourses that are allowed during tests are: calculators, math books, math notebooks, and homework.
