A Message from the Principal

At East- West Sylvan, we strive to create and sustain a learning community where all members can thrive and learn at their highest level. This year, we started the year having all students watch a video, "Stand by Me".

Following the viewing, students and teachers had conversations about what makes a community, and why all members of the community are important. Students then saw a video-welcome from Principal Boyce.

At East Sylvan, we are continuing our focus on “kindness”. At West Sylvan, we will focus on “community” which builds on our last year’s focus of “respect”.

Middle school is an exciting time for most students. They are given more freedom which comes with more responsibility. It is a time for students to work on organization and time management as they move from class to class throughout the day. It is our hope that they will become independent, self-directed learners by the end of eighth grade. Our teachers hold high expectations for your children both academically and behaviorally. We want to partner with you to make this a great middle school experience for your child.
