The Duniway PTA is a part of the National PTA which focuses on child advocacy and enrichment programs. At Duniway, PTA volunteers coordinate and run the school art program and also provide the funds for classroom supplies, field trips, and assemblies. Our volunteers also coordinate community events, such as free movie nights, walk & bike to school days, ice cream socials, a spring dance, and an end of year parade.
The Duniway School Foundation is part of the Portland Public Schools Foundation which was established by the Portland Public School Board to raise funds for teaching positions that might otherwise be eliminated. Donations to the Duniway School Foundation provide funds that allow our students to have a Physical Education teacher, a Music teacher, and a Librarian.
The Duniway School Site Council reviews school data and provides a yearly plan for school improvement and staff inservice.
Duniway parents and family members provide exceptional support for school programs through dedicated involvement in PTA, site council and Foundation, as well as other volunteer and fundraising activities.
