I was born in rural Vermont and left to attend Oberlin College. From there, I decided to keep moving west, and sight un-seen, I moved to Portland. I have lived here for almost 15 years now, and love it! After working in politics, I received my Master's in Teaching from Lewis and Clark and completed my internship practicum for the year at da Vinci. I taught at West Sylvan for 10 years and have now returned to teach at da Vinci!

I teach so that I can encourage students to become critical thinkers, readers, poets and writers, activists, and all around compassionate humans. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know my students and sharing my time with them thinking, learning, and creating together.
