Counseling Mission and Philosophy

Mission:
The mission of the daVinci Arts Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, personal, career and community development of all students.  Through collaboration, cooperation, and communication between parents, teachers, administrators, students, and the community, we strive to help students develop and demonstrate their talents and abilities to attain excellence.  By utilizing the arts, education, prevention, and intervention strategies we hope to encourage each student to recognize and reach his/her full potential and become a contributing member of a successful community.

Philosophy:
The daVinci Arts Middle School Counseling Department believes that students have the right to:
* Have someone they trust listen to and support them.
* Learn in a physically and emotionally safe environment.
* Develop the skills needed to achieve academic, personal and artistic success to the best of their ability.
* Discover and develop their unique skills and talents.
* Become empowered to solve their own problems using effective decision making and coping skills.
* Improve their peer relationships by developing communication, conflict resolution, and other social skills.
