da Vinci Arts Fair

The da Vinci Arts Fair brings together a community of local artist, shoppers, art enthusiasts, family and students each year to support arts education. Adult artists pay an upfront fee to enter and students donate 30% of sales to the PTSA. All funds raised are used for classroom needs and art enrichment. This year the arts fair has evolved with a few changes. The fundraiser is only being held one day and artists will be handling their own transactions. In order to better support our students running their own sales, we want to have some extra volunteers available to assist them. Finally, we will be breaking down the event on Saturday evening, so if you can gather some friends to assist, that would be great! The da Vinci Arts Fair is Saturday, December 5th, from 10 am-6 pm. The da Vinci Foundation

Dear da Vinci Families,

As you probably know by now, da Vinci is an exceptional school! We take pride in not only challenging the minds of our students, but engaging them in a multitude of creative classes to feed the whole child/student/body/soul. Our arts program for middle schoolers is unique not only in Portland, but across the entire state!

We cannot do it without your time and financial support. Our arts-based curriculum requires more funding than Portland Public Schools (PPS) can allocate, which is where the da Vinci Foundation comes in. Funds from the Foundation bridge the gap between what we need to offer our arts program and keep class sizes small, and what we get from PPS.

This year, we need to raise $60,000 by June to keep our programs intact for next year. So far, we have raised $5000. The Foundation does this through a variety of fundraisers such as Dines Out evenings, flower sales at performances, a Raffle, a spring event, shopping via the Amazon link on our website, and tax-deductible donations.

We are trying something new this year, and running a direct ask campaign with a challenge component. From now through December 31st, we are asking 50 families to make a donation of ANY AMOUNT to the da Vinci Foundation. 23 families have come together and created a challenge pot totaling $10,175. Wow, Thank you! This challenge fund will kick in once we reach our goal of 50 additional families making a contribution to the Foundation.

Everyone can participate! The $5 or $10 donation is just as important as the $50, $150 or even $500 donation, because only with community participation will the challenge pot kick in.

Between now and December 31st, you can drop off a check or cash to Sheli or Liz in the main office or go online to All Hands Raised (our Foundation’s umbrella organization) and donate there: https://allhandsraised.org/donate/ To donate, select or type in the amount, select "da Vinci Arts Middle School"and follow the remainder of the directions. All donations are tax deductible.

Join our challenge fund families with a donation to the da Vinci Foundation today!

With much appreciation!!!
