Mid Sep Back to School Night (a night for parents without their student)
Oct PSAT (important for both SAT practice and National Merit Scholarship qualification). Click here for more information about college testing. NOTE: Juniors must pay for PSAT and will take the test during the school day. The PSAT is not offered any other day within PPS (but is still offered on a Saturday at local private schools.

Late Winter Sign up for Spring SAT or ACT. (Take SAT Subject Tests fall of Senior year if bound for highly competitive college.) Click here for more information on college testing and to see test dates.

Attend with your student the “College Information Night” at CHS. For more information on the entire college application process and experience, click here.
Late Spring Consider checking in with Business Office regarding possible fines. If books lost somewhere along the way, fine could be pricey! Best to pay big fines now instead of end of senior year when fines could come as a shock (students will not receive their diploma if fines unpaid).

Summer Seriously consider suggesting to your student that he or she work on both the college application and application essay over Summer. Senior year gets busy fast and leaves little room for extras.
