Volunteer Opportunities
I welcome family members to volunteer in my class. The children appreciate it because there are more grown ups to nurture them and help them with work.
In order to volunteer, you must pass a background check, and if all goes well, you receive a volunteer PPS ID on a lanyard, and you can participate in the school and on field trips. This is to ensure safety for the children. Patsy Burke, our secretary, has the forms to fill out, in the office.
These are the ways that I could use your help:
field trips
math, writing, or reading class help (Monday through Thursdays reading 11:15 - 12, and math 1:15- 2:15pm, and writing all week)
art class help (Friday mornings)
xeroxing, filing
setting up for science or art, helping kids do science experiments
tutoring a child one-on-one in reading, writing, or math
speaking on a topic you are interested in, or doing a project with the students that goes with one of your hobbies.
ETC. I'll accept any ideas. The children and I appreciate your presence.
