Snack Ideas


I am teaching the children about healthy snacks that fuel their body and give them energy to work during the day. We have discussed snack options that are sugar and chemical free:
Protein and carbohydrate:
cheese and crackers, a sandwich, cream cheese on bread or a bagel,
nuts and fruit, yogurt and fruit, hummus and bread or pita bread, sun chips,
tortilla or blue corn chips with cheese dip
vegetables: carrots, snap peas, broccoli and cauliflower, green beans, celery
dips: hummus, spinach dip, ranch dip, bean dip, salsa, tahini dip, cream cheese, peanut butter, etc.
Fresh, canned, and dried Fruit:
apples, pears, oranges, bananas, cherries, grapes, berries, melons, nectarines, plums, peaches, kiwi, mangoes, papayas, raisins, cranberries
Carbohydrates:
corn chips, sun chips, pita chips, blue corn chips, tortilla chips, bread and butter, corn nuts, popcorn, corn on the cob, cooked potatoes
