Chapman Educational Foundation
The Chapman Foundation was established in 1994 to generate resources urgently needed to restore and sustain high-quality education for the students of Chapman Elementary School. The Foundation each year strives to replace declining public revenues with contributions from Chapman families and other supporters. The Chapman Educational Foundation raises money to support the school’s educational plan as developed by the principal in consultation with parents and teachers.
School foundations are the only way a school can raise funds to pay for additional school personnel, or full-time equivalents (FTE). However, the Foundation is not limited to only purchasing the services of school personnel. The Chapman Educational Foundation, with the recommendation of the principal, may direct resources toward other critical needs within the school. Friends of Chapman is a partnership between the PTA and the Foundation to raise money, strengthen community partnerships and build community at Chapman. News and Events
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! Friends of Chapman is a new partnership between the Chapman Educational Foundation and the Chapman PTA. As returning families know, and new families are soon to discover, Chapman is a very special school. A big part of our success is a supportive partnership between the staff, parents and community. We would like to expand the spirit of collaboration this year through Friends of Chapman. In addition to a closer partnership between the PTA and the Foundation, Friends of Chapman will reach out to local businesses and, most importantly, call on Chapman families to participate in our fundraising at whatever level works for you.
Our Goals
· Maintain current levels of Music, PE and Technology positions
· Provide Education Assistants to where they are most needed
· Continue enrichment programs such as outreach, our partnership with OMSI, Science Fair, Art Ball, artist-in-residency programs, library books, musicals, field day, field trips, teacher allocations for classroom supplies and activities and much more!
How much will this cost?
We need to raise $200,000, which is approximately $400 per child, to be able to continue to provide the high quality of education at Chapman. Of course, some families won’t be able to give that much money, while other families will contribute more. You will be able to choose what level of giving is right for your family. Participation is the most important thing!

Mission and Purpose
Mission
The Chapman Educational Foundation raises money to support the school’s educational plan as developed by the Principal in consultation with parents and teachers.
Purpose
Why do we need the Chapman Educational Foundation?
As established by School Board Policy in 1994, school foundations are the only way a school can raise funds to pay for school personnel, or full-time equivalents (FTE). However, the Foundation is not limited to purchasing only FTEs. The Chapman Educational Foundation can, if the Principal so desires, use the funds for other critical needs within our school. Traditionally, though, the funds raised by the Foundation have been used to purchase FTEs for music, library, literacy, and child development
History
The Foundation was established in 1994 to generate resources urgently needed to restore and sustain high-quality education for the students of Chapman Elementary School. The Foundation each year strives to replace declining public revenues with contributions from Chapman families and other supporters. When it began, the work of the Foundation was simple: to communicate the need for financial support to those willing and able to replace revenues lost through tax limitation ballot measures.
A decade later, we still lack a dependable and adequate public education funding solution, and funding continues to erode. The financial support received now is as compelling as ever.
