Welcome to Kindergarten in Room 3!

Who are you?
My name is Barb Andrews. My students call me Mrs. Andrews, but parents - please call me Barb!

How long have you been at Chapman?
The 2010-2011 school year will be my eighth at Chapman and my 13th as a kindergarten teacher!

Where were you before?
I previously taught in South Carolina in a multi-age classroom (PreK-K) at a university-based Child Development Center.

So what makes you qualified to teach kindergarten? :-)
I hold two degrees from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Education for both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I went on to receive a Master of Arts in Education in Language Arts and Reading in 2000, also from Furman University - Go Paladins!

Do teachers actually have lives outside school?
I am happy to report that we do! I am a dog-mom to two rascally shepherd mixes and one sweet pit bull. My great loves are traveling, running, reading good books, photography, boating and spending time at home with my husband.
