After School Care
ExAcademy (Extended Day Academy) is Capitol Hill's after school care program. It is unique in that it is run by Capitol Hill staff and not by an outside organization. This means that coordination and communication between ExAcademy staff, teachers, and the community is greater. It also has resulted in a more consistent environment for students. We're proud to have been the first school in the district to develop our own after school care and hope that it serves your family's needs well.

Registration
All students (including drop-ins) must have a completed 2009-10 registration form on file prior to participating in any ExAcademy activity. Please make certain all information is up to date at all time. Registration forms are available in the Capitol Hill School office. The ExAcademy is only available to K-5 students who attend Capitol Hill School.
General Program Information
Students who participate in our ExAcademy are provided with an array of extracurricular options: PE activities, computer lab, homework assistance, art activities, as well as taking courses from guest artists and musicians throughout the school year. The students are divided into groups depending on age level and assigned a group leader. Parents decide the extent of homework that is to be done each day before students may participate in any activity.
With safety our number one priority, all staff members have a two-radio to announce whenever a student is moving from one activity to the next. Each student wears an identification badge on a break-away safety lanyard that includes allergy information and people authorized to pick up the student. With approximately 114 students (FT, PT and drop-ins) enrolled for the 2009-10 school year, we still have some room left for those interested. Please don't hesitate to contact the ExAcademy coordinator, Debra Crockett, at email: dcrockett@pps.net if you would like additional information or a site tour.
Payment
Cost for a full-time ExAcademy student is $278.00 per month (Sept - Nov, Jan - May) and $139 (Dec and June). Part-time tuition is less. Siblings of ExAcademy students receive a discount. Please stop by the school office for a flier that lists all costs.
Drop In
A limited number of drop-in spots are available for $20/day. A completed registration form and registration fee must be submitted prior to the day of your first drop-in visit. Please sign up for drop-in visits in the school office with at least one day advance notice.
