Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School Admission
Buckman is open to students in the Portland Public Schools district. We are both a neighborhood school and open to students outside the neighborhood through the PPS School Choice lottery process.
Application Process for Non-Neighborhood Families
To apply for admission to Buckman from outside the neighborhood, you must attend a mandatory school tour, and fill out the proper transfer application forms required by Portland Public Schools.

March 5th, 2013 6:00-7:00 PM
School Choice Applications become available at all PPS schools starting February 8, 2013 and must be received by Portland Public Schools by March 15, 2013 at 5:00pm in order to be included in the lottery.

Application Process for Buckman Neighborhood Families
Students living in the Buckman neighborhood, as defined by Portland Public Schools, do not need to fill out a School Choice Application, but they must contact the Buckman office to indicate their intention to attend Buckman. They are also encouraged to attend the Connect to Kindergarten.
Connect to Kindergarten
Our Connect to Kindergarten, which is for Buckman neighborhood families, will take place on Tuesday, February 5th from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
