Battle of the Books
2013/14 Oregon Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books (BOB) is a semi-competitive program open to Bridger students in 3rd-8th grade. Students of all abilities are exposed to quality fiction and non-fiction literature representing a variety of themes and genres. Each student typically reads at least four of the books listed below and competes on a team to answer questions about the books. Teams work together for months preparing for the event while building friendships and collaborative work skills. Practice “battles” will be held at Bridger in February and the winning teams will participate in the regional competition in March.
Check with your classroom teacher to find out how teams will form in your class!
Parents are encouraged to read the books as well (they are good reads!) and then discuss them with their children. Even the K-2 students will enjoy having these books read to them; then they will be "in the know" when we have our school battle in the winter. Happy reading!
