Starting and finishing at Bridger School this course will take you through Portland’s beautiful Montavilla Neighborhood into Mt. Tabor Park where you can either make a straight ascent to the top, or break from the mundane and explore the park and its majestic views before returning to the school. The terrain features road and dirt trail. We will have three guide stations along the route that can offer aid, directions and enthusiastic cheering as you make your climb to the top and down.
Jim Bridger Parkour Challenge (9:15 AM): Parkour is a method of training which allows you to move through urban and natural environments, using only the human body to overcome all obstacles. Expect to run, jump, climb and vault, using precision, balance, strength and speed. Whether you are an expect Traceur or a novice, you will use these techniques to get from the top of Mt. Tabor, through two miles of obstacles and challenges, and on to Bridger School. An experienced Traceur will warm up, train and then lead your group safely through the rigorous Parkour Course, which will take 45 to 90 minutes, depending on ability.
Jim Bridger Mountain Man Training for Kids (9:30 AM): This event is an obstacle course for all ages and will be held on the Bridger Campus.
All participants will be provided Bagels, Bananas and Rootbeer at the finish line.
