A Message from the Principal

Dear Boise-Eliot Community:

The Superintendent has proposed to move Humboldt PK-8 students to Boise-Eliot PK-8 starting this fall. PPS is concerned that Humboldt’s small enrollment – fewer than 225 students this year - is too low to give students the robust program they need especially given the district’s $27.5 million budget shortfall. Joining Boise-Eliot would create a school large enough to offer a strong core program to all.

Please click to view a Family Advisory with more details.

Go to the PPS Enrollment Balancing website for more information.

The Portland School Board is scheduled to vote on this proposal April 23.
We will welcome Humboldt families with open arms should this proposal become reality. I will share more details with you as I know them.

Thank you for your support of Boise-Eliot and what may become our expanded community.

Molly Chun
Principal
