Hi, I am Jaimie Carr. I teach 6th grade Life Science and 8th grade Earth Science. I love teaching through inquiry and using many hands on labs. Science is fun and learning about the world around us should be too.

A little about me: I grew up in a small Oregon town named Cottage Grove. I went to elementary through high school here. After high school I immediately started working at the Forest Service, where I worked as a fire fighter and wildlife biologist for 8 years. During this time I completed my bachelors of science in fisheries and wildlife at O.S.U. It didn't take long for me to realize that I wanted more time working with students. I went back to school at the University of Portland and earned my Masters. I completed the vast majority of my student teaching at Beaumont and realized what a great school it is. I taught at Lane Middle School for 4 years, before making my way back to Beaumont.
When I am not at work, I play on some adult "just for fun" teams including: indoor soccer, dodge ball, and kickball. Most weekends, and during other time off, you can find my husband and I kiteboarding in the gorge, snowboarding, camping, or traveling to the beaches of Central America.
